Certified Insurance would like to remind you of the upcoming employer deadline for the “Exchange/Marketplace Notice”. This notice explains the opening of the federal Exchange for individual insurance. As you are probably aware, Health Care Reform requires all employers to provide a notice of the “Exchange” (also called the Marketplace) to all employees no later than October 1, 2013 and each new employee at the time of hire beginning October 1, 2013. Marketplace Notice: The HHS provided template Marketplace Notice must be provided to each employee, regardless of whether the employee is enrolled in a plan or whether he/she is full-time or part-time. The notice is not required to be provided to spouses or dependents. You will notice that the form requires some customization on page two before you can send it out (employer contact information). Completing/including page 3, questions #13-16 is optional. This notice is required – give to all employees full time or part time.
This information must be given to employees via email, US mail, or if you handout/include with payroll or other method, make sure you can confirm the employee received this notice. The DOL only stated the form must go via electronic mail or US mail.
